Morgan Smith
Morgan Smith, who is a graduate of Columbia College and Mannes College of Music at New York City's Columbia University, was a Seattle Opera Young Artist (1999-2000). In 2001 he began his career in Billy Budd as Donald. Smith is a Seattle frequented performer and has appeared in roles in twelve other productions which include Don Giovanni, Silvio in I Pagliacci (title role), Riccardo I Puritani, Peter Niles Mourning Becomes Electra in the musical, and also the Count Alamaviva and Count Alamaviva in Le nozze di Figaro. Smith is a regular performer, made his Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion. Additionally, he played the North American premier of Detlef Glanert's orchestral version of Brahmspopular Cycle Vier Praludien and Ernste Gesange with his orchestra, the San Antonio Symphony. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony is also on the program, along with the Requiems composed by Brahms Faure Mozart Durufle the Masses C Minor Mozart Vaughan Williams and Bach's B Minor Mass. Handel's Messiah, L'Allegro Penseroso Moderato as well as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Bach's B Minor Mass, many Cantatas and Bach's Weihnachts Oratorium.
