Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY born March 17 in 1988) also known as Grimes, is a Canadian musician, singer, songwriter, and producer of records. 2][3] The variety of her earlier music has been described as "lo fi R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". In addition, she has included elements of hip-hop electronic music and rock. Her songs often incorporate science-fiction and feminist themes throughout her songs. Five studio albums have been issued by her. Born and raised in Vancouver (later moving into Montreal), Grimes began publishing music from the mid-2000s onwards and released two albums, Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa, in 2010 through Arbutus Records. In 2012, Visions will be her third studio effort. The band was signed to 4AD. Visions includes the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion". It was also awarded the Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. In the years following, the fourth album of her studio, Art Angels, was released in the year 2015 and garnered the acclaim of critics, with several publications having called it the top album of 2015. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth album. In addition to music, Grimes had a voice part in the adventure role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge on the popular music competition game show Alter Ego.
